Haven’t we heard this kind of talk before?  Remember how after 911, they told us that “everything is different now...we will have to give up freedom for security...Americans will have to change their way of life...things will never be the same”?   Seems we are having our financial 911 now.  We are being told that our “capitalist system” (such as it was) will never be the same, we will have to change everything to keep us same from future calamities of this kind, ect...
