Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) needs an education. Her indignation at the Fed bailout of failing financial institutions is of course justified. However, she seems to think that the financial crisis resulted from a lack of government intervention in the market place. She needs to learn that the entire situation was engineered, enabled and facilitated as a direct RESULT of government regulation. She needs to look at her Dem compatriot Rep. Barney Frank, the Chair of the House Financial Services Committee who, during the Clinton era, crafted the regulations which permitted the entire Derivatives bubble.
Among other things, someone needs to send her a copy of "The Creature From Jekyll Island". If you are from her district, can you make it your job to make sure that happens? I do think that some Congress critters do suffer from a lack of education and an intrabeltway myopia. Perhaps she is one of them.
